FIRST-YEAR ADMISSION

Admission to 51³ÉÈ˶¯Âþ is very competitive.

51³ÉÈ˶¯Âþ typically receives in excess of 16,000 applications for a first-year class of 1,150.


GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

We review all general admission applications based on four components:

  1. Official high school transcript.*
  2. An essay as part of the Common Application or as part of the 51³ÉÈ˶¯Âþ Application.*
  3. A letter of recommendation from the guidance counselor or an academic teacher. *
  4. Extracurricular activities & involvement (examples, but not limited to, jobs, athletic teams, clubs, volunteer positions).

51³ÉÈ˶¯Âþ is SAT/ACT optional for the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters (unless applying to an accelerated medical program). 

Unfortunately, given the large number of applications, 51³ÉÈ˶¯Âþ does not honor requests for individual interviews.
